There has always been a metaphorical connection between machine and man. The difference between man and his technology is constantly being redrawn. From the first simple machines the wedge, lever, screw, inclined plane, pulley and the wheel and axle, machines make our lives easier. Many of the great civilizations have expanded on their knowledge of machines in war and transportation machines early on with great strides on the seas through their ships. The industrial age with external and internal combustion engines, machines like the cotton gin, the automobile and air flight have changed man forever. No one can deny that the computer has changed the world. But it is only recently that we have been able to imagine machines complex enough to be like humans. It is a wonderful ride that God has given mankind as we have invented and new boundaries explored. I myself want more about, how have we gotten to where we are now?
